Lynne's Vision - Windows as Frames

Sometimes, your partner has a vision……… then you’re charged with making it happen.

Hey Howard, wouldn’t it be cool to frame some on my satin prints in an old window! I can see them on covered porches, big walls without windows and even offices without a view! said Lynne.

You know what’s coming next, so you start asking questions and receiving feedback. With or without glass? Lynne - without or course. How flat do you want it to lay on the wall? Lynne - flat against the window of course. Repainted or rough? Lynne - do a prototype and refresh the paint, It must be clean, don’t want paint chips hanging off the frame and the ends must be painted.

Prototypes made, good response from our first showing and a few funny comments like; can I bring ya’ll my old windows and let you just pop a picture in it? Will I get a discount if you use my window?

Well, you don’t just pop a picture in! It’s actually pretty laborious; you’ll need to remove the hardware and the glass, route the back of the window out, make an appropriate stretcher frame, clean the old paint up, refinish, select and print a picture, stretch the picture, mount the picture and add hardware. But…. the results are pretty cool! The Atlantic Coast Sunrise will be available at our next show. Vintage Market Days - Coastal Carolina at the Myrtle Beach Sports Center Feb 28 - March 1. Check out more of our windows this Spring at one of our scheduled shows!
