Studio Muses - Framing a Triptych
It’s a rainy morning and we need to frame some pieces for upcoming shows. So how do you frame a Triptych? OK the quick answer is: It takes a frame which has been mitered, corners attached with a v-nailer, stained dark walnut and varnished. Then you attach the three panels to the frame using the Trotter Arts jig which requires four quick grips, 24 small L-Brackets and 48 screws. The final step is attaching the hanging hardware. The picture below is one in progress:
So, I’m sure that was boring or part of a bad joke…… How many engineers does it take to screw in a light bulb? But the results are pretty special! Below are two just off the studio work table. The Green River and Moses Cone Path. Both are heading to Greenville for Vintage Market Days, May 21-23.
We also finished an unframed triptych of Table Rock that will be available in Greenville. It is 60” wide and 28” tall. Maybe perfect over a bed or sofa or in an office. Hope you enjoyed our little rainy day studio musing and as always feel free to browse our store for that perfect satin print for your home of office!
